Self Leveling Machines – (SLM)

Self Leveling Machines is a specialized on site machining service provided by Furmanite. Self Leveling Machines (SLM) specializes in machining very large circular and irregular shaped surfaces on structural components.

There is virtually no size limit because our milling cutters are controlled by a scanning laser plane and are independent of any deflections which might occur in the portable machine frame.

This allows large structures to be machined in a single set up with accuracy’s similar to those achieved on major workshop machines.

Our equipment is readily portable and we cover the world for large size on site machining.

Strengths & Services

SLM specializes in large-scale, precision on-site machining with a range of customized laser-guided and electronically-controlled circular and linear machining equipment, capable of machining diameters of up to 45 meters and areas of up to 16 x 11 meters in a single setup. We utilize proven laser surveying and alignment techniques to ensure exact positioning and the highest quality results with repeatability and accuracy.

Detailed measurements are made prior to any machining work. This data is then utilized in discussions with the client in order to determine the best machining solution. During machining, clients are encouraged to witness the process and review the post machining data. At the end of the project, an in-depth final report is compiled and submitted to the client.
