Outline Procedure:

  • Fit venting/injection devices
  • Close flange gap
  • Inject compound (sealant) into flange void
  • Plug leak at the defect (at the gasket)
  • Pressure envelope should remain unchanged

Bolted flange / gasket leaks

One of the most common type of leaks repaired by Furmanite is where a gasket has failed.

Repair is achieved by closing the gap between the flanges at the outside edge and then injecting sealant into the cavity.
