Pivoting Head Pipeline Line Plugging Technology

Furmanite provides many unique solutions for our customer’s line stop and line plugging needs.  The work-horse of our equipment for the past 50 years have been the Pivoting Head Line Plugging system.  First developed for use in the Pipeline industry by the Standard Oil Company, we are continuously creating new milestones for both size and pressure rating capabilities with this technology.  The pivoting head system enters the pipe or pipeline through a full sized hot tap.  The Line Stop head is installed via a pressure containing actuator.  Once inside the pipeline, the plugging head ”rotates” 90 degree into the pipe and the head is locked into position and provide a means of control for the pipeline pressure and contents.
