A brief history of the United Kingdom Company written by A W Forsyth (OBE) in September 1973 describing the development from its early establishment sometime prior to 1929, then liquidated and reformed as Furmanite Engineering Company (1929) Limited through to its move from selling “kits” to a full Leak sealing service company employing its own engineers and Leak sealing Technicians. This history also describes how the United Kingdom company reunites with the original US Furmanite Corporation as well as establishes operations in Europe and Australia. This history is written on letterhead showing the United KingdomCompany has now moved to Kendal in the North West of England where today it still has its United Kingdom headquarters. Furmanite is now a World-wide organisation with highly skilled personnel in over fifty countries ranging from Azerbaijan to Alaska, and an ability to mobilise “flying squads” to anywhere it does not have a permanent base, at hours notice.
