Designed with plant safety and reliability in mind, Furmanite’s tube plugs are the standard in providing quick and effective isolation of tube leakage for a variety of heater, condenser and heat exchanger applications. Furmanite’s plugs are able to isolate a leakage with no need for explosives or welding. They are also quick and easy to install and remove.

The Tube Plug consists of a tapered spindle and sleeve, which expands when tightened to ensure a close metal-to-metal fit with the tube wall. Its unique design allows for easy installation, quick and accurate fitting, and equally easy removal if retubing or other extensive tube repair work is required. Each Tube Plug is packaged with full instructions.

Potentially dangerous techniques such as using conical plugs, which can often become lethal ‘projectiles’ if forcibly ejected due to pressure build-up during dismantling can be avoided by using our tube plugs. Likewise, the need to employ exploding and welding techniques is eliminated.

Furmanite’s Tube Plugs are available in a variety of materials and sizes to suit virtually every need. Materials for spindles, nuts and bushes range from carbon steel for normal applications, to heat and corrosion resistant metals for use in the harshest conditions. Our standard in-stock supply of sizes will accommodate most tube diameters and gauges. However, specific situations that require special sizes can be made to order.
