VALVE INSERTION ASSEMBLIES – THEN AND NOW

Our belief has always been to provide the highest quality products and a superior level of technical expertise and customer service. For over 50 years we stood by Insertion Valves manufactured by AP SMITH (US PIPE ) and Mueller Company. These insertion valves met AWWA Specification C500 for metal seated gate valves and once installed offered years of reliable service. Unfortunately, these manufacturers moved away from producing their high quality Valve Insertion Assemblies due to decreased production demands as Line Stopping technology emerged as the choice for many new under pressure valve installations.

In recent years a few manufacturers have attempted to fill the void which was left in the insertion valve market after the exit of US Pipe / AP Smith and Mueller. These new insertion valves appear more as a quick fix solution rather than filling the need of the water operator who desires long term benefits of the addition of new valves into their systems. In some instances quality and performance of these newer insertion products is suspect.
Furmanite now offers the *EZ Valve™ Insertion Assembly as its inserting valve of choice.
The EZ Valve™ offers the following design features and functions the same as a new valve with the exception that it relies on sealing on the interior of the existing water main.

- 2” operating nut with standard number of turns for opening and closing
- Requires only one excavation
