Expert Chemical, Environmental Engineer Joins Furmanite’s Leak Detection and Repair Group
Houston, Texas (August 25, 2005) – Furmanite, the world’s first and one of the largest industrial specialty maintenance service companies, announced today that Angela Tucker-Peeler will join Furmanite as Service Line Manager for the company’s Leak Detection and Repair Group (LDAR). In this position, she will oversee Furmanite’s existing LDAR Compliance Management System, such as equipment, quality assurance, and software development as well as partner with customers on fugitive emissions compliance issues.

“Increasingly customers are partnering with Furmanite to meet their leak detection and repair and fugitive emissions compliance goals. Tucker-Peeler’s experience as a chemical plant engineer and inspector for a state regulatory agency provides her with the expertise and knowledge in fugitive emissions monitoring and compliance and government regulations that makes her the ideal addition to our team,” said Gary Gardner, President, Furmanite America.

As the Service Line Manager for Leak Detection and Repair, Tucker-Peeler will also provide regulatory guidance to Furmanite’s customers in the petrochemical, refinery and chemical industries to ensure fugitive emissions standards are met and that customers are apprised of changes in current regulations and compliance dates. She will provide customers with expert consultation, conduct LDAR needs assessments and make necessary improvements to customers’ existing fugitive emissions plans.

Prior to joining Furmanite, she served as environmental engineer for Kentucky- based Arkema, responsible for the leak detection and repair program, as well as all plant regulatory compliance issues related to the Clean Air Act and Title V Permitting. She also worked as engineer in the Aventis CropScience Environmental and Health Services Division (formerly Rhone-Poulenc and currently Bayer CropScience).

From 1995 to 1998, she was an engineer for the West Virginia Division of Environmental Protection’s Division for Air Quality where she implemented Title V of the Clean Air Act; oversaw the development of Title V Permits and Construction/Modification Permits; conducted Air Emission Inventory; and trained new engineers.

She maintains membership in professional organizations including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Air and Waste Management Association, where she has presented on a variety of regulatory compliance issues.

Tucker-Peeler earned her Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from Marshall University Graduate School in South Charleston, West Virginia and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the West Virginia University Institute of Technology.
