Furmanite Aberdeen team grows
Furmanite, the speciality services company geared to maximising asset uptime, has appointed a new offshore sales manager and offshore operations manager at its Aberdeen office.
Lesley-Anne Brodie, offshore sales manager, will be driving offshore sales activity in the Aberdeen North Sea region, serving existing customers and building new business, based on Furmanite’s range of products and services geared to helping the offshore oil and gas industry minimise downtime and keep assets earning. These include pressurised leak sealing, pipeline intervention, on-site machining, Trevitest on-line valve testing and on-site valve repair, SmartShim™, composites repair and strengthening, and passive fire protection, plus the latest addition Pressurized Systems Integrity (PSI) Management.
Lesley-Anne joins Furmanite from a business development post with Wormald Safety and Service (formerly Wood Group Fire Protection). Through this and her previous role as Tyco Engineering Services marketing executive, she brings an extensive knowledge of the offshore oil and gas industry as well as considerable sales experience.
Commenting on her new role she says: “It’s highly motivating to be able to take such as strong product offering to market and develop the many opportunities to help oil and gas operators and contractors benefit from our services to maximise asset uptime, representing high value. The Furmanite name is well known, but a lot of people don’t realise the breadth of services and therefore full extent of what we can offer, and fact that our technicians can undertake a number of services while mobilised. I’m very excited by the prospect and opportunities ahead.”
Paul McKenna, offshore operations manager, joins Furmanite from GlaxoSmithKline in Montrose, with a strong engineering background based on this and previous plant/project engineer positions in various industries, which have followed ten years as a marine engineer in the merchant navy.
As operations manager Paul’s role with Furmanite sees him responsible for all day to day operational management issues associated with delivering a service to the offshore client base, including logistics, timeliness, safety, delivering to budget, quality, and customer liaison.
“I’m delighted to be able to apply my skills and experience to ensure that Furmanite’s offshore industry customers gain the best possible service from us,” Paul says. “There is so much Furmanite can offer, not just in terms of on-going asset maintenance and avoiding unscheduled shutdown but at front end engineering design (FEED) or construction stage too, helping operators throughout the asset life cycle. Ensuring we deliver these services with optimum efficiency and maximum benefit to the customer is a challenge I shall be relishing.”
Furmanite is an international organisation with offices across the globe. In Aberdeen it is based at the Wellheads Industrial Centre, Dyce, and can be reached on 01224 722333, or via www.furmanite.com.
